IDFC First Bank Bags Title Sponsorship Rights for India’s Home International Matches

Mumbai: IDFC First Bank has secured the title sponsorship rights for the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) home international series for a period of three years, starting from August 2023 to August 2026. The deal is worth Rs 235 crore, with IDFC First Bank paying Rs 4.2 crore per international game.

The agreement covers 56 international games, including 24 men’s ODIs, 21 men’s T20Is, and 11 women’s ODIs. The contract will come into effect with the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia, which will be played from September 22 to 27.

Sony Sports and IDFC First Bank emerged as contenders for the title sponsorship, with IDFC First Bank eventually securing the rights. Another bid from a corporate entity was rejected due to technical reasons.

This shift in sponsorship comes as IDFC First Bank takes over from Mastercard, the previous title sponsor, which had agreed to Rs 3.8 crore per game. Last year, Mastercard secured title sponsorship rights for all BCCI international and domestic matches.
