Indian Origin Soldier Among 12 IDF Personnel Killed in Gaza Battle

Staff-Sgt Halel Solomon of Indian origin was among the 12 Israel Defence Forces (IDF) personnel who were killed in the intense gun battle with Hamas militants inside Gaza, reported Israeli media and the Mayor of Dimona town.

This 20-year-old Indian-origin Israeli soldier was a resident of Dimona, a small southern Israeli town, which is called “Little India” because of its large population of Indian Jews.

Staff Sergeant Solomon was part of the IDF troops that launched the ground operation in the Gaza strip.

Indian community in Dimona, condoled his death.

The IDF continues its ground, and air assault in Gaza to eliminate Hamas militants.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a statement on the death of IDF soldiers in Gaza, said that they fell in a just war and assured full government support to their families.
