IT Professional Wears Burqa to Record Women in Washroom, Arrested in Kerala

Kochi: A young IT professional was arrested for allegedly entering a women’s washroom in a shopping mall of Kochi wearing a burqa to record videos on his mobile phone.

The arrested 23-year-old B.Tech graduate was booked under sections 354(C) (Voyeurism) and 419 (Impersonation) of the IPC and Section 66 E of the Information Technology Act.

The incident occurred on Wednesday at the Lulu Mall where the accused is an employee in a leading IT firm.

He wore a ‘burqa’ to enter a women’s washroom and hid his mobile in there to record visuals.

Noting his suspicious and sneaky behaviour, the mall’s security personnel informed the police who quickly reached the spot and rounded up the accused.

The burqa and the mobile phone of the accused were seized as he was arrested.
