Jagan Reddy Accuses Chandrababu Naidu of ‘Tarnishing Tirupati’s Sanctity’ in Letter to PM Modi Amid Laddoo Row

Hyderabad: Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take action against the current Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for allegedly spreading false information about the use of animal fat in Tirupati laddoos. In his letter, Reddy called Naidu a “pathological liar” and accused him of damaging the faith of millions of Hindu devotees for political gain.

The controversy stems from Naidu’s claim that animal fat was used in the preparation of the famous Tirupati laddoos. Jagan Reddy, however, countered this by explaining that a tanker containing substandard ghee was rejected by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and never used. He highlighted the rigorous quality checks followed by the temple, where every batch of ghee undergoes multiple tests before being accepted for use in prasad preparation.

Reddy criticised Naidu for bringing up the issue in a political meeting two months after the tanker was rejected. He argued that Naidu’s actions were aimed at diverting attention from the failures of his government. Furthermore, he emphasised that Naidu’s statements have the potential to irreparably damage the reputation of the TTD, which holds immense significance for Hindu devotees across the country.

In his letter, Jagan Reddy appealed to the Prime Minister to reprimand Naidu and ensure that the truth about the ghee controversy is made public to restore faith among devotees.
