Kangana Ranaut Slapped by CISF Constable at Chandigarh Airport Over Farmer Protest Remarks; Officer Suspended, Probe Initiated

Chandigarh: Newly-elected BJP MP Kangana Ranaut was reportedly slapped by a CISF woman constable at the Chandigarh airport on Thursday while she was en route to Delhi. The incident has led to the suspension of the constable and the filing of an FIR, according to officials.

Ranaut, who won the Lok Sabha seat from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, claimed in a video statement on X titled “Shocking rise in terror and violence in Punjab” that she was slapped and verbally abused during a security check at the airport. She expressed concern over what she perceived as increasing terrorism in Punjab.

The MP stated that the constable approached her from the side, slapped her, and began abusing her. When questioned, the constable allegedly said she supported the farmers’ protests.

Ranaut reassured her followers that she was safe but voiced her worries about the rising violence in the region. The incident has sparked significant attention and discussions regarding airport security and political tensions.
