Kejriwal in CBI Custody Allowed Gita and Home Cooked Food

New Delhi: Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court, while granting Kejriwal’s custody to the CBI allowed him to have a copy of the Gita and home-cooked food while the custody of the Central probe agency.

On Wednesday, the court remanded the Delhi Chief Minister to three-day CBI custody in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case. But the court also accepted Kejriwal’s request for some concessions during the custody period.

As per the court order, while in CBI custody, Kejriwal will be allowed to retain his spectacles, take prescribed medication, eat home-cooked food and keep a copy of the Bhagavad Gita. Added to it, he will be allowed to meet his wife and relatives for one hour daily.

The AAP chief told the court that he studies the Gita every night before going to sleep.

But his request to be provided a belt as he had to hold his pants, which he found “embarrassing”, was not granted by the court.

Kejriwal will be produced before the court by 7 pm on June 29 at the end of his CBI custody.
