Lightning Kills Minor Girl in Mayurbhanj, 2 Children Among 3 Injured

Baripada: Lightning strikes killed a minor girl and seriously injured three others at Rangamatia village under the Bangiriposhi block of Mayurbhanj district on Friday.

The deceased was identified as eight-year-old Jayasini Marandi, the daughter of Kandra Marandi and Sakara Marandi. Jayasini’s 10-year-old elder sister Jasmirani Marandi was also seriously injured in the lightning strike.

The other two injured in the lightning strike were Lukesh Tudu (6), and Anant Marandi (55).

The injured are undergoing treatment at PRM Medical College & Hospital in Baripada.
