Jajpur: Dignitaries, social activists, and philanthropists got together in a seminar to protect and enliven the cultural heritage of the Haripur and Baruan areas in the Jajpur district.
This seminar on temples and ancient art culture of Haripur and Baruan was organized in the scenic courtyard of Shree Taradevi temple in Baruan.
The meeting was attended by representatives of local temples, mutts, and fair management committees.
Prakash Chandra Naik from Gurugram who has his ancestral roots in the region, linguistics, and culture researcher Prof. J. Parikshit, director of Skisha Sandhan, Anil Pradhan, senior journalist Bimal Prasad, vice-president of Baruan Melana Committee, Satya Sundar Mohapatra etc took part in this seminar along with local citizens. A noted writer of the area and cultural researcher Bharatbandhu Biswal managed the seminar.
Participants of the seminar were of the opinion that unless the rich cultural heritage of the area is protected the new generation will become ignorant about it. They decided to take up measures so that the institutions linked with the cultural tradition of the area are rejuvenated keeping alive the centuries-old traditions.
