Bhubaneswar: A low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a depression around November 16, stated the morning bulletin of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
“A Low-Pressure Area has formed over Southeast Bay of Bengal & adjoining Andaman-Nicobar Islands. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a Depression over Westcentral Bay of Bengal around 16th November, 2023,” the IMD bulletin said.
Because of this low-pressure system, some Odisha districts of are expected to receive rainfall. The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has issued Yellow Warning for this for November 16 and 17.
November 16: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Cuttack and thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Dhenkanal and Mayurbhanj.
November 17: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Khurda, Puri and Dhenkanal.
