Man Axed to Death for Rs 2000 Lent Money in Sundargarh Dist

Sundargarh: A man was hacked to death on Wednesday when he allegedly asked for Rs 2000 he had lent to the accused at Lamati village under Talsara police station limits in Sundargarh district.

According to reports, the deceased identified as Salindra Majhi had given a loan of Rs 2000 to Durjan Majhi of Barahadema village.

When Durjan did not return the amount, Salindra and his brother confronted Durjana and asked him to return the lent money. This led to an altercation that aggravated to a violent scene. In a rage, Durjana allegedly attacked Salindra and his brother with an axe.

Seriously injured Salindra died while he was being rushed to a hospital. Durjana fled after committing the crime.

Getting information, personnel of the Talsara police station have reached the spot. The axe used in the murder has been seized. A search is on to nab the culprit.
