Man Hacks 8 Members of His Family Before Committing Suicide in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: A man allegedly hacked eight members of his joint family to death with an axe in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhindwara district. After committing the heinous crime, he hanged himself.

This shocking incident occurred on Tuesday night at Bodal Kachhar village under the Mahuljhiri police station in Madhya Pradesh. The reason behind the incident is not yet ascertained.

Senior officials of the district, including the Chhindwara collector and superintendent of police, rushed to the village, to take stock of the situation. Police are conducting an investigation.

At 2.30 am, when the family was sleeping, the accused, Dinesh Gond alias Bhura attacked his mother Siyabai, 55, wife Varsha, 23, brother Shravan Kumar, 35, and Shravan’s wife Baratobai, 30. He then hacked his 16-year-old sister Parvati, five-year-old nephew Krishna and nieces Sewnti (4) and Deepa (1) with the axe.
All eight of them died on the spot. He also attacked a 10-year-old neighbour who was rescued by his grandmother.
Hearing the screams, neighbours rushed to the house. Seeing them, Dinesh ran away. Later, his body was found hanging from a tree near his house.
