Man Set Ablaze in Kalahandi for Asking Back Money He Had Loaned

Bhawanipatna: A man was set ablaze in Kalahandi district on Thursday by a person, who had taken a loan from him.

The victim, identified as Anjan Padhy suffered serious burn injuries. He has been admitted to the Burla Medical College Hospital. The identity of the assailant has not been ascertained.

According to reports, Anjan had given a loan of Rs 2 Lakh to the accused, who was not returning the money despite several reminders. As part of a plan, the accused called up Anjan to Khariar Road to collect the amount from him.

When Anjan reached the place, the accused allegedly poured petrol on him and set him on fire. After committing the crime, the accused, escaped from the spot.
