Man Shoots 5 Persons Dead in North Las Vegas and Kills Himself

A man fatally shot five people and critically injured a 13-year-old girl in shootings at two nearby apartments in North Las Vegas. He killed himself on Tuesday morning when he was surrounded by the police.

The man, Eric Adams, 47, died by suicide after ignoring commands by officers with the North Las Vegas Police Department to drop a firearm he had been holding, the police said in a statement on Tuesday.

It is unclear why Adams shot down the victims late Monday night. Police officials received information about a shooting at an apartment on Casa Norte Drive and found two women, one in her early 40s and the other in her late 50s injured by gunshots. The women were later pronounced dead. A 13-year-old girl shot by the assailant was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, the police said.

The police also found three other people fatally shot at a nearby apartment. They included two women in their mid-20s, and a man in his early 20s.
