Man Throws Acid On Mentally-Challenged Youth in Angul Dist

Angul: A man allegedly threw acid on mentally-challenged youth in the Talcher area of Odisha’s Angul district. The incident has come to the fore from the NTPC market area of ​​Talcher’s Kanha block of the district.

The victim was identified as Sridhar Mohapatra, a resident of Chendipada police station, Kotchapada village. Reportedly he lost his mental stability for more than 20 years. The accused was identified as  Lakin Biswal.

According to reports, while Sridhar was walking in the market yesterday, the accused allegedly threw acid at him. Due to the attack, the victim’s back was totally burnt.

Following the attack, some social workers rescued him and rushed him to the hospital.

On being informed, police reached the spot and started to probe into the matter. However, the reason for the attack is yet to be ascertained.
