Maoist Killed in Encounter in Chattisgarh’s Sukma

Raipur: A Maoist was shot dead in an encounter with the security forces in the Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday morning.

This exchange of fire happened in the jungles on a hill near Tumalpad village under Chintagufa police station limits. A joint team of security personnel comprising the personnel of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Bastar Fighters were involved in this encounter.

The identity of the slain Naxalite has not been ascertained. Security personnel are continuing combing operation in the area.

With this incident, a total of 154 Naxalites have been slain in separate encounters so far this year in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region that includes seven districts including Sukma.
