Maoist Slain In Encounter in Chhattisgarh’s Dhamtari Dist

Raipur: A Maoist was killed in an encounter with the security forces in the Dhamtari district of Chhattisgarh bordering Odisha.

A huge cache of explosives was seized from the spot of the encounter along with the body of the slain Naxalite. The identity of the deceased Maoist has not been ascertained.

According to police sources, this exchange of fire occurred at around 3:30 pm on Monday inside the forest near Muhkot-Aamjhar villages under Khallari police station limits when a District Reserve Guard (DRG) team under Dhamtari Superintendent of Police Anjneya Varshney was out on an anti-Maoist operation.

With the death of this ultra, the total number of Maoists killed in Chhattisgarh this year has increased to 133. On May 11, another Maoist was killed in an encounter in Dhamtari district.
