Miscreants Fire, Hurl Bombs to Loot Rs 14 Lakh Cash, SUV from Weekly Market in Dhenkanal Dist

Dhenkanal: A group of armed miscreants blank-fired and hurled bombs to loot Rs 14 lakh and an SUV from the Jirala weekly market under the Kamakhyanagar police station limits on Friday morning.

According to reports, some traders from Badasahi in the Mayurbhanj district had come to the Jirala weekly market in a Bolero. The traders went inside the market, while two persons including the driver were there inside the parked SUV.

All of a sudden, five bike-borne armed miscreants reached the spot and started firing into the air and also blasted crude bombs to panic people all around. Taking advantage of the chaos, the miscreants fled with the SUV in which the traders had kept Rs 14 lakh in cash.

The traders filed a complaint regarding this armed robbery at the Kamakhyanagar police station. A manhunt continues to nab the miscreants.
