Missing Malkangiri Doctor Located in Karnataka

Malkangiri: Dr Amlan Bhoi, who had gone missing from his official quarter in Malkangiri district since June 1 was traced by the police from Karnataka.

Speaking to newsmen, Malkangiri SP said, “Dr Amlan Bhoi has been located. The doctor is safe and sound. He is being brought from Karnataka to Malkangiri.”

Bhoi was posted at the Kalimela Community Health Centre (CHC). After his duty hours on June 1, he returned to his government quarters in the afternoon. But he was found missing from his quarters on the next morning. Based on a complaint filed by staff of the CHC, Kalimela police started an investigation to track down Dr Bhoi.

Initially, it was alleged that the missing doctor was abducted by the Maoists. But Malkangiri Superintendent of Police (SP) refuted involvement of Maoists in the incident.
