Missing “Taarak Mehta…” Actor Gurucharan Singh Returns, Was On a Spiritual Quest

New Delhi: The mystery surrounding the month-long disappearance of ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ actor Gurucharan Singh ended on Friday night when he returned back to his home in Delhi

He is popular for his role of ‘Roshan Singh Sodhi’ in the famous serial. On April 22, he left his home for Mumbai, but never reached there.

Local police traced his mobile phone at the Palam airport in Delhi.

After recording his statement in a local court, Delhi police said, “He said he had embarked on a spiritual quest having been overwhelmed by the challenges of mundane life.”

Singh’s father had lodged the missing person’s complaint with the police.

Now that he has returned, police are trying to retrace his journey. He is said to have told the police that he spent time in several gurdwaras of Punjab while he was away. He had gone to Golden Temple in Amritsar and other gurdwaras across Punjab.

While Gurcharan Singh wants to be left alone right now and is not meeting anyone, his father Harjit Singh told The Tribune.

I was so relieved to see him, the feeling is indescribable, he said.

The actor’s family lives in the Palam airport neighbourhood. Gurcharan Singh left the Tarak Mehta show in 2020, and he was later replaced by Balwinder Singh Suri.
