Mumbai Police Arrests Man Behind Billboard Collapse From Udaipur

Mumbai: Bhavesh Bhinde, the owner of Ego Media Pvt Ltd, the company responsible for installing the billboard that collapsed in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar, was arrested from Rajasthan’s Udaipur by Mumbai police on Thursday night.

He was transported to Mumbai on Friday morning.

Mumbai police crime branch arrested Bhinde after a massive manhunt.

On Monday evening, an 120 feet by 120 feet billboard crashed onto a nearby petrol pump during an unseasonal storm killing 16 people and injuring 75 others. Following the incident, Bhinde escaped out of Mumbai in a car with his driver.

Mumbai police had formed eight teams to track down Bhinde. He was finally located in Udaipur Thursday evening, three days after the hoarding collapse.

Bhinde changed his name and hid in a hotel in Udaipur.
