Murder of 2 Youths Over Parking Dispute Shocks Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Two youths died during a clash over parking at an apartment complex in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday night.

This shocking incident happened at an apartment complex in the Ayarpada area under Airfield police station limits.

A group of persons attacked and killed Rashmiranjan Sethi alias Jitu and Julu Sethi, with sharp weapons.

According to police sources, a dispute over parking of vehicles led to this violent attack. The victims were residing in the said apartment complex, while the attackers were from another complex nearby.

Police have arrested four persons including the prime accused, Ganesh Mallik, and his wife. Police are in search of five other accused persons who are absconding.

As per reports, a parking dispute between Rashmiranjan and Ganesh, the maintenance person at Kalyani Plaza was continuing since past few days. On Wednesday evening, it aggravated when Rashmiranjan parked his car in front of the Kalyani Plaza. It led to an altercation and also physical tusle between Ganesh and Rashmiranjan.

Ganesh then called up his friend Pradeep who reached the spot along with some associates armed with sharp weapons. They stabbed Rashmiranjan. Two locals, Julu and another friend, were also stabbed when they tried to intervene and save Rashmiranjan. After the attack, the assailants escaped from the spot.

Locals rushed the seriously injured men to the hospital, where  Rashmiranjan was pronounced dead on arrival while Julu succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

The third victim is under treatment in critical condition.
