Nawaz & Bilawal Start Parleys to Keep Imran Out of Power in Pakistan

The final results of the Pakistan general elections are still awaited. But both the PTI founder Imran Khan and PML(N) head Nawaz Sharif have delivered victory speeches claiming that they have won the elections.

But the fact is that the PML(N) is doubtful of getting a majority in the polls. So, it is started holding in talks with PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, to form a coalition government, reported Dawn.

On Friday night, Shehbaz Sharif, PML-N central president and brother of former PM Nawaz Sharif held a meeting with PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at the residence of Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Lahore to discuss their possible alliance to form the unity government.

They are said to have exchanged views on government formation. Both parties have agreed to work together to achieve political and economic stability in the country, reported Radio Pakistan reported.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has decided to form a ‘unity government’ in Pakistan.

These two parties were compelled to get together as independents backed by jailed former prime minister Imran Khan’s PTI won lions share.

Imran Khan’s PTI-backed independents have won the most 94 seats, so far. Nawaz Sharif’s PML-N has won 63 and Zardari’s PPP has managed 50 seats. The results on several seats were still being counted.
