NEET-UG Retest: 682 Highest For Haryana Centre Where 6 Candidates Scored Full Marks

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the centre and city-wise NEET UG 2024 results, following a Supreme Court order to investigate suspicions of irregularities. The revised scores come after controversy erupted over an unusually high number of perfect scores from a single centre in Haryana.

In a surprising turn of events, none of the candidates from Haryana’s Jhajjar centre, which previously boasted six perfect scorers, achieved marks above 682 in the updated results. Only 13 students from the contentious Hardayal Public School in Jhajjar managed to surpass the 600-mark threshold.

The original results had raised eyebrows when an unprecedented 67 candidates scored a perfect 720/720, with six hailing from a single centre in Jhajjar. This anomaly fueled speculation about potential irregularities and exam paper leaks.

Facing mounting pressure, the government intervened, revoking grace marks awarded to 1,563 students. These students were offered the option to retake the exam or retain their scores from the original May 5 test minus the grace marks.

The NTA conducted a retest for students impacted by exam delays at six centres across Meghalaya, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, and Chandigarh.

This year’s NEET-UG saw participation from approximately 24 lakh candidates across 571 cities, including 14 international centres.
