Nepal Bus Accident Death Rises to 27, All Victims from India’s Maharashtra

The death toll of Indians in a bus accident in Nepal on Friday rose to 27 on Saturday.

This Indian-registered bus carrying 40 tourists from Maharashtra plunged into the Marsyangdi River in Tanahun district. It faced the mishap while travelling from Pokhara to Kathmandu. All the passengers on the bus were inhabitants of Jalgaon, Maharashtra.

The initial death toll was 14. Sixteen injured passengers were airlifted to Kathmandu for medical treatment. The injured passengers are being treated at the Institute of Medical Sciences in Kathmandu.

The bodies of the victims were taken to Pokhara for post-mortem.

Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Khadse will reach Kathmandu to collect the bodies of the deceased and meet the injured.
