Nilagiri Deputy Collector on Vigilance Scanner for Alleged Misappropriation of Rs 1.1 Cr Public Money

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance officials on Wednesday conducted raids at places connected Parikhita Jena, Nilagiri Deputy Collector in connections with alleged misappropriation of Rs 1.1 crore of Odisha Mineral Bearing Area Development Corporation (OMBADC), while he was posted as Suliapada Block Development Officer (BDO).

According to a Vigilance release, he allegedly misappropriated the funds without executing developmental works in the Suliapada block area of Mayurbhanj district during 2021-22 and 2022-23.

The vigilance department searches are being conducted by 6 teams, comprising 2 Additional SP, 4 DSPs, 6 inspectors, 7 ASIs, and other supporting staff.

According to a press release issued by the Odisha Vigilance, the raids are being conducted to verify the allegations and collect evidence in connection to the alleged misappropriation.

Jena is also accused of amassing disproportionate assets.
