Noted Puppeteer Padma Shri Maguni Charan Kuanr No More

Keonjhar: Noted puppeteer Padma Shri Maguni Charan Kuanr breathed his last at the age of 88.

A few days back, he was admitted to Keonjhar District Headquarters Hospital in critical condition for age-related ailments.

Kuanr received the prestigious Padma Shri award from the hands of President Droupadi Murmu for the year 2023 for his contribution towards the promotion and propagation of the traditional rod puppet dance form of Odisha.

His works have been documented by various prominent organizations of India and foreign countries. He has also received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for his contribution to traditional puppetry.
