Objectionable Abuse in Lok Sabha: BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri Skips to Appear Before Panel

New Delhi: BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri, did not appear before the Privileges Committee of the Lok Sabha on Tuesday in connection with his objectionable remarks against fellow Lok Sabha member from the BSP, Danish Ali.

Ramesh Bidhuri wrote to the Parliamentary committee that he would be unavailable. The committee will now decide the next date of hearing in the case.

Bidhuri is currently on a visit to Rajasthan. Bidhuri excused himself from appearing before the panel citing prior engagements.

Bidhuri is busy in campaigning in poll-bound Rajasthan where the BJP has made him in-charge of Tonk district, which has four assembly seats.

Assembly polls are due in the state on November 23.

The Privileges Committee of Lok Sabha had asked Bidhuri for “oral evidence” in relation to complaints received from several MPs against him and BSP MP Ali for “alleged improper conduct during the discussion on Chandrayaan-3 mission in the House”.

On Tuesday, before his ED custody was extended, the court directed Sanjay Singh not to talk to the media while being produced. The court said it creates a security problem.
