Odia BSF Jawan on Poll Duty in Chhattisgarh Martyred in IED Blast

Bhubaneswar: An Odia BSF jawan, Prakash Chandra Sial, who was seriously injured in an IED (improvised explosive device) blast triggered by Maoists in Kanker of Chhattisgarh succumbed to injuries.

Sial hailed from Gopalpur under Bahanaga block of Balasore district. He passed away during treatment at a Raipur hospital. He was part of a joint troupe of BSF personnel and District Force members escorting four polling teams dispatched from Kanker to the Rengaghati Rengagondi polling station.

Along with the BSF jawan, two polling team members were also injured in the blast.

Sial joined BSF in 2004 and is survived by his wife and two sons. He has two brothers and a widowed mother.
