Bhubaneswar: Odisha now has virtual centres of Orissa High Court in all 30 districts of the state. With this Odisha became the first state in India to have virtual centres of the HC in all districts.
On Thursday Justice Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi, the acting Chief Justice of Orissa HC inaugurated in 10 more districts of the state. The newly inaugurated virtual centres of the Orissa High Court are in Bargarh, Boudh, Deogarh, Gajapati, Jharsuguda, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Sonepur districts through videoconference.
Other judges of Orissa HC, Advocate General of Odisha and Judicial Officers were present during the occasion.
Justice Sarangi said Virtual High Courts were opened in all 30 districts to improve access to justice for the people of Odisha. Apart from enabling the District Court lawyers to take part in filing and hearing of cases, the Virtual Courts will reduce costs to the litigants, increase efficiency and ensure speedy justice.
