Odisha CM Majhi Meets Army Officer, Assures Impartial Probe in Police Assault Case

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi met with an Indian Army officer, his fiancée and her father at Loka Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on Monday to discuss an alleged case of police brutality.

CM Majhi assured them of a fair investigation and pledged strict action against those responsible.

The meeting was also attended by Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo, and Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari.

Following the meeting, the Army officer’s fiancée expressed her gratitude, calling Majhi a people’s leader.

In a related development, the Orissa High Court issued an order restricting the media from publishing the names of the Army officer and his fiancée in connection with the Bharatpur police station assault case.
