Odisha CM Declares Ex-Gratia, Orders Probe Into Chandan Yatra Explosion in Puri

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday announced Rs 4 lakh ex-gratia for the family of each person killed in the firecracker explosion accident that claimed at least three lives and injured more than 30. He also ordered a high-level inquiry into the incident.

The high-level inquiry ordered by the CM will be conducted by the additional chief secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management department and the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC), said official sources.

The CM visited a private hospital in Bhubaneswar on Thursday to meet with the people injured in the accident at Narendra Pushkarani in Puri on Wednesday night.

He discussed with the doctors regarding the treatment of the injured and wished everyone good health.
