Odisha Court Grants 20 Yrs RI To 3 Convicts For Gang Rape

Sundargarh: A local court has sentenced 20 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) to three convicts for gang-raping a widow in a moving car eight years ago in Odisha’s Sundargarh district.

The convicts were also slapped with Rs 5,000 fine each.

The convicts were identified as Sonu Soy, Indaru Kerketa and Prabin Barla.

According to reports, the three convicts gang-raped a widow from the Rajgangpur area in a moving car while she was returning to her home from a relative in 2015. They reportedly raped the victim one after one for four hours inside the car and threw her off the vehicle on the roadside after the heinous crime.

The court heard the judgement on the basis of 21 witnesses and evidence.
