Odisha Records 23.56% Growth in State GST Collections for June 2024

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s economy is firing on all cylinders, as evidenced by a significant increase in Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections for June 2024. The state recorded a phenomenal 23.56% growth in State GST (OGST + IGST Settlement) compared to June 2023, with collections reaching Rs 2,039.71 crore.

This positive trend extends beyond just the last month. When compared to the same period last year, the progressive collection of State GST up to June 2024 has witnessed an impressive growth of 29%.

Overall GST collection, which includes CGST, IGST, OGST, and Cess, also saw a healthy increase of 13.87% in June 2024, reaching Rs 4,987.27 crore. This growth momentum is further reflected in the progressive Gross GST collection for the year so far, which stands at Rs 15,916.31 crore, marking a 15.22% rise.

The buoyancy in Odisha’s economy is further underscored by the significant growth in e-waybill generation. June 2024 saw a 21.71% increase in e-waybills generated compared to June 2023, with a total of 22.87 lakh e-waybills issued. This indicates a surge in both intra-state and inter-state movement of goods.
