Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik hoisted the tricolor at the Exhibition Ground in the state capital and addressed the citizens of the state on occasion of the Independence Day.
At this State-level celebration, he called upon the citizens of Odisha to work unitedly to transform the state. He said the development of the downtrodden, farmers, women, tribals and youth is real progress.
He said Odisha is undergoing a major transformation in education, healthcare, tourism, infrastructure, and other fields due to the application of the 5T principle.
Odisha’s economy has become stronger as the number of poor people has come down. According to him, Odisha is receiving investments, creating employment opportunities for youth.
He informed that the state government has decided to open banking outlets in 4373 unbanked panchayats of the state to provide banking access to people living in every panchayat.
Four lakh new beneficiaries would be added to the Madhu Babu Pension Scheme, who will get pension from today, he said.
Emphasizing on pro-people policies of his government, he said “Every life is precious. The Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojna has ensured quality healthcare service for everyone. Women are the face of development. The Mission Shakti has emerged as the engine of transformation for them,” the Chief Minister said.
“To make youths employable, we will train around one lakh of them every year under the NUA scheme.”
