Odisha Records 63.85% Voter Turnout Till 6 PM, Nabarangpur Sees Highest Polling

Bhubaneswar: In the first phase of polling for both Lok Sabha and state Assembly in Odisha, voter turnout reached an estimated 63.85% by 6 pm. This phase encompassed four Parliamentary constituencies – Berhampur, Koraput, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur – along with 28 Assembly segments under these seats across 8 districts.

The Chief Electoral Officer’s office in Bhubaneswar reported the highest voter participation in the Nabarangpur Assembly seat, where 73.44% of eligible voters exercised their rights. Conversely, the Berhampur Assembly segment observed the lowest turnout, with only 47.90% of voters casting their votes. However, this data is approximate, with the possibility of revisions expected.

Comparatively, the voter turnout in the first phase of the 2019 elections stood at 66%. It’s expected that the current figures might align closely with those of 2019 post-revision.
