Election to 3 Rajya Sabha Seats From Odisha to be Held on February 27

New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced that elections for three Rajya Sabha seats from Odisha are scheduled for February 27, 2024. The seats currently held by Ashwini Vaishnaw, Prashant Nanda, and Amar Pattnaik will reach the end of their terms in April 2024.

Official sources reveal that the voting will take place from 9 am to 4 pm, with the counting of votes set for 5 pm on the same day. The ECI’s notification outlines the key dates, with an official notice to be published on February 8. According to the ECI, the term of office for 56 members of the Council of States elected from 15 states, including three from Odisha, is set to expire in April 2024.

In adherence to the ECI schedule, the last date for filing nominations is February 15, and withdrawal can be done until February 20. The entire election process, from filing nominations to counting votes, will occur on February 27, 2024.
