Odisha’s Kishore Jena Displays Personal Best in Javelin Throw in World Athletics Championships, Finishes 5th
Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s rising athletics star Kishore Kumar Jena secured fifth position in the javelin throw at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest on Sunday. In this event, India’s Olympic gold medalist bagged the historic maiden gold medal for India.
Jena overcame the visa problem at the last moment to reach Budapest. He displayed his personal best in this international event. He finished fifth with a personal best throw of 84.77 metres.
Another Indian D.P. Manu finished sixth with 84.14 metres throw. Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem won the silver medal with a throw of 87.82 metres, while Czech Republic’s Yakub Vadlejch got bronze with a distance of 86.67 metres.
