Jammu: A jawan of the Border Security Force (BSF) was injured when Pakistani forces violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu on Wednesday.
The unprovoked firing from the Pakistani side of the LoC was retaliated by the Indian troops.
This unprovoked firing by the Pakistani rangers occurred at around 2.35 am in the Akhnoor area. It was befittingly retaliated by the BSF. One BSF personnel sustained injuries in Pakistani firing.
Following this incident, Indian troops along the International Border and the LoC have been put on high alert.
The latest ceasefire violation by the Pakistan forces comes when Jammu and Kashmir is preparing for Assembly elections slated to begin on September 18, with the second and third phases to be held on September 25 and October 1, respectively.
