Pakistani ISI Agent Working at Indian Embassy in Moscow Arrested from Meerut

Meerut: The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (UP ATS) has arrested a Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agent from Meerut. The accused was a former employee at the Indian Embassy in Moscow. The suspect, identified as Satyendra Siwal, had been serving in the capacity of Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) at the Ministry of External Affairs since 2021.

The arrest came following a tip-off received by the ATS regarding a potential spy within the Indian Embassy in Moscow. Acting swiftly on this information, the UP ATS questioned Siwal, who initially provided evasive responses. However, he eventually confessed to his involvement in espionage and was promptly arrested in Meerut.

During the interrogation, Siwal admitted to enticing Indian government officials with financial incentives to gather sensitive information about the Indian Army’s day-to-day operations. His alleged activities also include passing crucial and confidential details about the Indian Embassy, Ministry of Defence, and External Affairs to ISI handlers.
