Pick-Up Van falls Into Gorge in Sundargarh Dist, 2 Women Killed, 7 Injured

Rourkela: At least two women died and seven others were injured on Friday when the pick-up van on which they were travelling skidded off the road and fell into a gorge at Usatali Ghat road under the Hemagiri police station limits in Sundargarh district.

The deceased were identified as Moti Gandharba and Semabai Gandharba.

According to reports, the pick-up van was travelling to Duduka with nine employees of a private company.

Locals rescued the injured, who were admitted to Sundargarh District Headquarters Hospital and Hemagiri Hospital.

Locals demonstrated at the accident site demanding compensation for the families of the deceased. Personnel of the Hemagiri police station seized the bodies and have started an investigation into the accident.
