Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated six new Vande Bharat Express trains, including two for Odisha. The trains were flagged off virtually during a program in Ranchi.
Odisha received the Berhampur-Tatanagar Express and the Rourkela-Howrah Express, bringing the total number of Vande Bharat trains passing through the state to five. These semi-high-speed trains are expected to boost connectivity and tourism in the region.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi was present at the Berhampur Railway Station during the inauguration.
The Berhampur-Tatanagar Vande Bharat Express will have stops at Banspani, Keonjhar, Harichandanpur, Jakhapura, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road and Balugaon. The inaugural train left Berhampur at 11:00 AM and is scheduled to reach Tatanagar at 11:45 PM.
The Rourkela-Howrah Vande Bharat Express will have stops at Chakradharpur, Tatanagar and Kharagpur. The train departed from Rourkela Railway Station at 11.00 AM and will reach Howrah at 6.15 PM.
