New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi achieved a significant milestone on Sunday, becoming the most followed global leader on X (formerly Twitter), surpassing the 100 million followers mark.
This remarkable achievement places him ahead of notable figures such as Indian cricketer Virat Kohli (64.1 million) and pop star Taylor Swift (95.3 million).
In his celebratory post, PM Modi expressed his gratitude, stating, “A hundred million on @X! I cherish the discussions, insights, and constructive criticism. I look forward to continued engagement in the future.”

Modi’s follower count significantly surpasses that of other world leaders, including US President Joe Biden (38.1 million), Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed (11.2 million), and Pope Francis (18.5 million). Among Indian political figures, Modi stands out: Rahul Gandhi has 26.4 million followers, Arvind Kejriwal has 27.5 million, Akhilesh Yadav has 19.9 million, and Mamata Banerjee has 7.4 million.
PM Modi’s influence extends beyond X; he has nearly 25 million subscribers on YouTube and over 91 million followers on Instagram. His X handle has grown by approximately 30 million followers in the past three years alone.
Since joining X in 2009, PM Modi has actively engaged with the public, responding to messages and following numerous citizens, maintaining an organic presence without using paid promotions or bots.
