PM Modi Thanks Odisha for Resounding Victory, Vows to Deliver Progress

Bhubaneswar: In a landslide victory, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emerged triumphant in the Odisha Assembly polls, securing an impressive tally of 80 seats, surpassing the majority mark comfortably.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to X to express gratitude and pledge unwavering commitment towards the state’s development.

“Thank you Odisha! It’s a resounding victory for good governance and celebrating Odisha’s unique culture. BJP will leave no stone unturned in fulfilling the dreams of people and taking Odisha to new heights of progress. I am very proud of all our hardworking Party Karyakartas for their efforts,” tweeted PM Modi.

As the vote counting continues, BJP secured 37 seats outright, with a lead in 43 seats, effectively clinching a total of 80 seats, much to the jubilation of party supporters. This impressive victory not only signifies a mandate for good governance but also highlights the resonance of BJP’s vision for Odisha’s future.

The party’s triumph in Odisha wasn’t confined to the assembly alone; it also made significant gains in the Lok Sabha elections, securing 19 out of the 21 seats in the state.

However, at the national level, the BJP fell short of the majority mark in the Lok Sabha, securing a substantial but not overwhelming mandate. Nonetheless, its alliance bloc, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), clinched victory with a total of 290 seats, comfortably surpassing the 272-majority mark.

As the dust settles on the electoral battlegrounds, all eyes are now on the BJP-led government’s plans and policies, as they endeavour to translate their electoral triumph into tangible improvements in the lives of the citizens of Odisha.
