Poachers Kill Forest Guard in Mayurbhanj; Two Arrested

Baripada: Two poachers were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the alleged murder of forest guard Bimal Kumar Jena posted at Baunsakhala beat house in Mayurbhanj. Bimal was shot dead while he was patrolling in the jungle under his beat house on Monday evening along with four other personnel.

According to forest officials, the arrested duo were among a group of around 12 poachers. Efforts are on to nab the 10 other accomplices of the group, who have already been identified. Five teams comprising forest personnel and local police are jointly conducting the combing operation.

A country-made firearm was recovered and seized from the possession of the arrested poachers.
