Post-Poll Violence in Odisha’s Banki, Pipli, At Least 6 Injured

Bhubaneswar: At least six persons were injured in post-poll violence in Banki and Pipli areas of Odisha

According to reports, six persons were injured in a violent clash between two rival political groups at Bedpur village under Banki police station limits in Cuttack district on Sunday. The injured were admitted to the Banki Hospital for treatment.

Locals blocked the Cuttack-Banki road on Sunday night to protest against this incident of post-poll violence for a long time.

In another incident of post-poll violence, some unidentified miscreants pelted stones at the car of Pipli MLA Rudra Pratap Maharathy on Sunday. The MLA was travelling with his supporters in the car, when miscreants threw stones at it at Terundia under Nimapara police station in Puri district. Police have detained a leader of a political party from Terundia panchayat in relation to the incident.
