Russian President Vladimir Putin Thanks PM Modi for Efforts To Resolve Ukraine Crisis

Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday for his efforts in seeking a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine crisis. During their meeting at the Kremlin, Putin underlined PM Modi’s attention to critical issues, particularly the Ukraine crisis, advocating for peaceful solutions, as reported by TASS news agency.

In televised remarks, PM Modi reiterated India’s commitment to peace and its readiness to contribute to ending the conflict in Ukraine, highlighting the importance of peace for future generations. He referenced his recent informal talks with Putin, describing them as hopeful.

Putin stressed the close cooperation between Russia and India on the international stage, focusing on their collaboration within the UN, Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and BRICS. He noted their extensive discussions during PM Modi’s visit, including various global issues.

Meanwhile, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov expressed scepticism about NATO’s reception of PM Modi’s peace initiatives amid ongoing summit discussions. He acknowledged increasing global calls for dialogue as a means to find solutions despite differing viewpoints.

Putin reaffirmed the longstanding friendship and privileged strategic partnership between Russia and India, stressing the enduring nature of their bilateral relations.
