Rajasthan Police Constable rapes Woman, Cops Help Him to Escape

Jaipur: A police constable Mahesh Kumar Gurjar raped a married woman in the Baswa police station area in the Dausa district of Rajasthan. Locals tied him to a cot and beat him up ruthlessly.

But the erring constable rescued by the local police personnel was allowed to escape. Gurjar is absconding.

Following a complaint lodged by the victim, both the accused and the SHO of Baswa police station were suspended on Thursday.

Constable Gurjar allegedly raped the 30-year-old married woman while she was alone on Tuesday night. When she shouted for help, neighbours caught Gurjar and thrashed him.

Receiving information, a team from Baswa police station reached the spot and took Gurjar for a medical examination. Later, they let him go.

The matter came to fore on Thursday when the woman lodged a police complaint.
