Ratna Bhandar May be Opened On July 14; SJTA Submits Justice Rath Panel’s Recommendation To Govt

Bhubaneswar: The proposal of the 16-member high-level committee for the opening of the Ratna Bhandar on July 14 was submitted to the Odisha government by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).

According to the SJTA chief administrator Vir Vikram Yadav, the Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee has approved the proposal of the committee headed by Justice Biswanath Rath, which was sent to the state government for approval.

The committee also suggested the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the opening of the Ratna Bhandar.

Steps will be taken as per the decision of the state government, he said.

The 16-member Committee had discussed the Ratna Bhandar Opening on July 9 and prepared the SOP.

The Committee has proposed the government to open the Ratna Bhandar for inventory and conservation works.

The ornaments of the deities have been proposed to be shifted to a makeshift Ratna Bahndar to be set up by the SJTA.
