RBI Doesn’t Change Lending Rate At 6.5% For 10th Time in a Row

New Delhi: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) preferred to keep its key interest rate unchanged for the tenth consecutive time, announced the RBI governor Shaktikanta Das on Wednesday.

A six-member Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) headed by Das kept the repo rate unchanged at 6.5 per cent.

The decision to keep the lending rate unchanged was announced after the RBI’s three-day monetary policy meeting.

The committee, which consists of three RBI and three external members, voted 5:1 to keep the repo rate unchanged. Repo rate was last changed in February 2023.

The MPC also kept the growth projection unchanged at 7.2 per cent for the current financial year.
