Registration Mandatory for Entry Into Uttarakhand for Chardham Yatra

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government on Thursday made it mandatory for devotees to register for the Chardham Yatra.

Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi said a letter is being dispatched to all states, informing them that devotees without registration will not be allowed to participate in the Chardham pilgrimage.

Police teams will check vehicles across the state and vehicles traveling without registration will not be allowed to enter the state.

Added to it, mobile phones will not allowed within 200 meters of the holy sites and action will be taken against those who upload misleading videos, or reels related to the Chardham Yatra, said the chief secretary.

Rudraprayag Police has started ‘Operation Maryada’ to take strict action against those consuming alcohol or intoxicants in the Chardham Yatra region.

The Char Dham Yatra involving pilgrimage to Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath started on May 10 in Uttarakhand.
